Dear readers,
The nice weather is still a while away, but spring has already arrived. This means we're spending more time outdoors again, and the sun is getting higher and stronger. To ensure we truly keep all the harmful external substances at bay, we have 5 tips to make your skin glow this spring.
Cleanse
A damp washcloth or some micellar water isn't enough. It's important to cleanse your skin thoroughly, especially after a busy day. To cleanse your skin effectively, it's crucial to use the right products. The way you use them also affects your skin. Therefore, always cleanse in two steps (especially if you're wearing makeup).
Step 1: Oil/milk cleanser. This cleanser removes all dirt, including makeup, from your skin. Use an oil cleanser for dry to normal skin and a milk cleanser for oily skin.
Step 2: Liquid/foam cleanser. This cleanser removes any residue left behind by the oil/milk cleanser. This creates a well-cleansed base for the rest of your skincare routine.
Exfoliate
And we don't mean those stubborn scrubs of the past. Use a soft, lightly exfoliating scrub that gently removes dead skin cells. This applies to both your face and body. Removing dead skin cells stimulates the production of new cells. Don't do this too often! Once a week, and for some, even once every two weeks, is sufficient.
If you want deeper exfoliation, always have this done by a professional to prevent irreversible skin damage.
Hydrate
Have you ever heard the saying "beauty comes from within"? When it comes to your skin, this is certainly true. Drinking enough water hydrates your skin from the inside out.
After the winter cold, wind, and heated rooms, our skin has endured a lot. Drink at least 2 liters of water a day to stay well hydrated.
Pamper your skin every now and then with a wonderfully hydrating mask. Grab a nice cup of tea and enjoy some me-time.
Moisturize
Protecting your skin with a good moisturizer shouldn't just be a springtime activity, but year-round. However, I wanted to add this, as we're entering another wonderfully busy period with Easter and hopefully many sunny days. Take your time and care for your skin, and definitely don't skip your moisturizer! A moisturizer ensures your skin's optimal barrier function, preventing moisture loss.
SPF
We all look forward to those first rays of sunshine. But we shouldn't forget that the sun is one of the biggest culprits for our skin. Did you know that UV rays are responsible for skin aging?
By using a good SPF in your daily skincare routine, you ensure that you optimally protect your skin.
After our tips, are you still unsure about what to do with your skin this spring?
